Styled after Italian triple strung harps of the seventeenth century, this is a compact harp with a range of four octaves and a third. it features either a vertical grain sycamore soundboard or a cross grain spruce sound board fitted to a staved soundbox made from 5 hardwood staves. The harp can be fitted with either five or seven chromatic strings in the middle row. The vertical grain sounding board is more historically correct, while the cross grain sounding board board can be fitted for those that want a slightly more modern sounding instrument. Also to this harp can be fitted with a short octave bass for those that wish to have an extended bass range down to the 6th Octave G two and a half octaves below Middle C.

Based on late 16th century Italian designed double strung harps, the double strung features a carved hardwood soundboard (sycamore) with either a rectangular section sound box or a two piece body with a "D" shaped body.  The harp can be fitted with either five or seven chromatic notes, which swap sides half way down the instrument.  Note that this style of harp is not freestanding.

As another option this harp can also be built as a transitional type triple harp, still in the 16th century shape, with a carved out body. As a triple this harp has three rows of strings for the mid-range of the harp. The exact range can be adjusted to suit the player. The harp pictured is triple strung from the G above middle C to the E a sixth below Mid C (ten diatonic notes).

The price for a transitional triple harp is:

Small: £2,750.00

Large: £3,250.00

This range of instruments can either be built with a vertical grain bent spruce sounding board, typical of 18th Century instruments, or with a cross grained sound board in line with many 19th Century triple harps. Vertical grain sound boarded harps are strung two octave light to concert whilst cross grain sound boards are strung 1 1/2 octaves light (folk gauge strings down one octave). These harps can either be set up to suit right handed or as a mirror image to suit left handed playing. Instruments can be built to suit modern pitch or the baroque pitch of A = 415
